The Gift of Imperfection

“You can choose COURAGE, or you can choose COMFORT, but you can’t choose them BOTH!” ~ Brene Brown.

Why not? It’s hard out here tryin’ to be courageous and stepping out of your comfort zone. But that’s what I’m doing, y’all. Nothing about this publishing process is making me feel like I’m the bomb. The opposite is true. I feel exposed and vulnerable. But if I didn’t start this journey, if I had waited for someone to validate me, step out on faith with me, or hold my hand, my manuscript would still be on the shelf. Art is subjective. Art is scary. Art is imperfect. But art is pure. It tells us who we are, and who we’re not. It exposes our faults and shares our soul. Art is life. And life is messy. Either way, I’m committed to living it. Being courageous. Speaking my truth. Because I would rather be wrong than be silent. If you’re wrong, it is forgivable. But if you are silent, there is no absolution. So if you see any typos or whatever, don’t judge me. Haha; I’m giving myself the gift of imperfection. Just forgive me, and forgive yourself. Let’s be courageous and uncomforable together. See y’all next time!
