Don't Worry, Be Happy
I remember that song by Bobby McFerrin (Not Bob Marley like 60% of people think). The lyrics were simple, but the message was clear. “In life we have some trouble. But when you worry, you make it double. Don’t worry, be happy.”
Snow days, like today, are no worry days. They come out of nowhere. Spontaneous. Unexpected. Joyful. Kinda like finally getting an award that you feel you earned but was never recognized for. (Yes, I ended a sentence with a preposition; I know.) :). It feels good to be given a break from Twitter wars and rumors of real wars and just focus on just being. Being lazy; being able to work at your own pace; being able to enjoy self care; being at peace and finally recognizing or remembering that worrying cannot add a single hour to your life. So, forget about what people say about you, how they may not support you, may secretly wish you don’t succeed and curse you when you do. Concentrate on the snow. Seek higher things. Remember your blessings and melt into a peace that surpasses all understanding and be happy for the rest. Become the snow.
